Admission

At the Pennsylvania State University, Operations Research is an inter-college program and students are not directly admitted to the Operations Research Program. Students interested in a dual-title degree in Operations research students should apply for admission to one of the participating graduate programs. The appropriate department will review the candidate’s application for admission into that graduate program. After arrival at Penn State, the admitted student will then apply for a dual-title degree using the appropriate form provided in the appendix. The appropriate request for for the dual-title degree must be filled out in consultation with the Graduate Coordinator in his/her graduate major and submitted to the Chair of the Operations Research Program. Students interested in a minor in Operations Research can be a part of any Penn State graduate program (they do not need to be in one of the participating programs, and can apply by filling out and submitting the appropriate minor degree request form. Students are encouraged to submit their application forms as early as possible, and not later than at least two semesters before their intended date of graduation.
